El Angel (1992)
Sophia Dieguez is a bored and successful shrink, who gets a visit at her practice from a local doctor seeking for cooperation with an intriguing and unidentified young patient that has been brought to his hospital. The young woman who seems to be cataleptic and deprived from normal human functions, immediately captures the doctor's interest and attention, falling fascinated by the challenge. That very same week, Sophia receives a visit from a former Professor and old flame who comes to town for a lecture and an opportunity to ignite a resting fire. They both join forces trying to cure the unfortunate girl, without any notable success but slowly getting involved indirectly with a series of murders that take place in the same hospital. Sophia has found her innerself again and the young girl, who she calls Angel, has brought back her interest and passion. A police investigator assigned to the cases directs his suspicions to the young girl and the doctors, in a senseless hunch that will be proven accurate when he almost becomes a victim himself. He tries to find logical ties between the cases and the disappearance of a young tourist named Legna ( Angel spelled backwards) whose he's been ordered to find at all costs. Angel hears everything around her and at night applies a satanic punishment to anyone that she redeems Sophia's enemy and slowly frees her wicked powers all over the city.Written and Directed by Manuel Montenegro
